A Hyderabad-based physiotherapist died on Saturday during a paragliding accident in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh.
According to reports, he was rushed to Lady Willingdon hospital in Manali immediately by locals and his friends. However, he was declared dead upon arrival.
The deceased identified as Lakka Chandra Shekar Reddy is a physiotherapist at a hospital in ECIL area, Telangana.
One of his friends said, Reddy was accompanied by an instructor during the adventure sport. Unfortunately, the parachute came apart during the descend. The resulting fall from over 100 feet above the ground caused severe injuries to the duo. The operator had sustained a fracture in the bones.
The 24-year-old was on a four-day leisure trip to Kullu-Manali with his three friends, the authorities reported. Hailing from Kothapalli Village in Kurnod district, Hyderabad, Reddy is survived by a sister and parents.
Uma Maheshwari, Reddy’s younger sister said, after his post-graduation, he was working as a physiotherapist at a private hospital in the city. He is the sole breadwinner of the family, she added.
An attempt to bring home the mortal remains of the deceased in underway. Also, the family has submitted an appeal for the same and an ex-gratia to the Chief Minister.
