CM BS Yediyurappa, Revenue Minister, BBMP Commissioner inspect the affected areas
Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa visited the waterlogged areas of Hosakerehalli along with Revenue Minister R Ashoka and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner Manjunath Prasad.
“Water-logging occurred in Hosakerehalli area after heavy rainfall yesterday because of poor drainage system here. Rs. 25000 will be given as compensation to each house that has got damaged due to rainfall,” said Yediyurappa.
He spoke to several people and said that the government would take up rehabilitation work at the earliest. Speaking to India Ahead, Revenue Minister R Ashoka said that the situation is under control and that proper relief work will be taken up.
“I have inspected the affected areas. Relief work will begin and I have instructed the BBMP authorities to take up repair work at the earliest so that this does not repeat. Relief funds will also be released to the residents and we will aide them during this tough time,” R Ashoka said.
Meanwhile, BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad said that the municipal corporation is well prepared for the rains and that this situation will be controlled in the coming hours.
