In a shocking incident, a man was arrested for allegedly fixing hidden cameras in ladies hostel.
The accused Sampath Kumar from Tiruchi, Kerala owned an apartment at Chennai’s Adambakkan, which he rented out to seven working women in September.
According to reports, many working women who stayed in the hostel suspected something was bizarre in their rooms. The inmates began getting suspicious after Sampath often carried out renovation in the building. The women had a doubt whether he was fixing camera under the name of ‘renovation’.
The women used a hidden camera detector app and found the camera in the switchboard. On further searching the apartments, the tiny cameras were even found in lights, clothes hangers and metal towel rods in the bathrooms, police said.
The police seized 16 cellphones and electronic gadgets from Sanjeevi. They also found him in possession of many fake ID cards.
Based on the complaint of the residents, the Chennai police have arrested Sampath Kumar and further investigations are on.
