The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Telangana for three days i.e., September 1 to 3. As the Southwest monsoon is very active in the state, almost all the parts are expected to receive the monsoon showers.
The Met department stated that the districts of Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal , Mancherial, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Jagitial, Rajanna-Siricilla, Pedapalle, Mulugu, Khammam, Warangal, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Suryapet among others will receive heavy rainfall.
IMD also mentioned parts of Andhra Pradesh will receive heavy rainfall in the next two days. The weather body said Yanam will receive heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours.
A low-pressure area is developing over the Bay of Bengal which may intensify the rainfall in the adjoining regions including Andhra Pradesh.
“The low pressure area is very likely to develop over north and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours and is likely to become more marked thereafter” said IMD in its bulletin.
IMD said upper air cyclonic circulation is hovering over the Coastal Andhra and may cause heavy rainfall in the region.
In Telangana, highest rainfall of 8 cm was recorded in Sultanabad in Pedapalle District on Friday followed by 7 cm in Jogipet, Sangareddy.
On Saturday highest temperatures in Telangana were recorded at 35 degrees Celsius in Khammam, followed by Adilabad and Ramagundam which hovered around 34 degrees Celsius.
