In an incident took place at Yedapalle Mandal in Nizamabad district, Telangana on Sunday at around 3.30 pm, five people were killed. The road accident took place when a speeding car hit an auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction killing all the passengers including the auto driver, according to a leading digital news portal.
Reportedly, the victims were returning home after attending a feast hosted by the village sarpanch of Kurnapally. Police said that the car, coming from the opposite direction, was moving at a high speed, and eventually hit the auto-rickshaw. After the collision, the auto overturned killing everyone.
The victims were identified as- Hakula Balamani (56), Jakulam Gangamani (60), Kallepuram Sailu (65), Chikkala Sailu (60) and the auto-rickshaw driver Shaik Nayeem (35), according to a leading national daily. They all were residents of Jankampet in Nizamabad, reported a newsportal
According to the police, while one person died almost immediately, the others were taken to Nizamabad Government Hospital but died while being treated.
“We have registered a case and begun our investigation. We will take action against the speeding car driver. The investigation is going on,” a police officer told the media.
The car driver is reportedly is missing as he fled the place after the accident.
