An assistant commercial tax officer was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for accepting a bribe of Rs. 25000 at Punjagutta.

Adabala Satyanarayana Murthy, who was posted at the Sanathnagar division, was held receiving money from the complainant Sanjay Raghu Ram, officials said.

According to sources, a trap was laid by the ACB officials to get hold of the culprit.

The officer demanded money from the complainant, a promoter of Zoomy Foods Private limited Begumpet, for issuing a favourable audit report on accounts of the complainant’s firm. Murthy was arrested and produced before the special court of the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
