Telangana: Newly elected MLC from Nizamabad Kalvakuntla Kavitha extended Bathukamma’s wishes to the people of Telangana through a video address.

In the video, Kavitha spoke about the festival Bathukamma which has always been about colors and festivities in the state. A festival which is celebrated with friends and family together will however see a low side this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, she added.

MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who was under home quarantine, advised celebrating the festival by following Covid-19 protocol.

She is the daughter of TRS head and state Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao.

Kavitha expressed her happiness with which Bathukamma is being celebrated on social media by young girls. She was especially happy by the newly released songs that were launched by Telangana Jagruthi, on the occasion of Bathukamma. These have received huge support online and rose to become one of the top songs this Bathukamma.

In the video address, Nizamabad MLC Kavitha was heard speaking about recent floods in the state along with the looming threat of coronavirus and the challenges that people have faced in times of crisis. She applauded the spirit of humanity in Telangana and requested the people of her state to stand by each other in these difficult times.

TRS leader and MLC Kavitha thanked CM KCR for releasing Rs 550 crore to ensure immediate relief towards those affected by the floods. The exclusive video address by Kavitha ended with her greetings, on the occasion, of Bathukamma to the people and she urged the people to stay safe.
