Despite a marvellous comeback in the first game, Indian shuttler PV Sindhu had to face defeat for a second game on the bounce in the ongoing BWF World Tour Finals here on Thursday.
Sindhu came from behind to win the first set but eventually lost 22-20, 16-21, 12-21 to Chen Yufei, in a match that lasted for an hour and 12 minutes.
The 24-year-old was trailing 17-20 in the first game, won five consecutive points to take the opening game, 22-20.
But in the next two games, Chen Yufei stormed back to dominate Sindhu.
Chen won the second set 21-16, followed by a 21-12 triumph in the decider.

Earlier, Akane Yamaguchi defeated He Bingjiao of China, 25-27, 21-10, 21-13 in the other Group A fixture,
On Wednesday, Sindhu lost to Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi, despite winning the first game.
Yamaguchi edged Sindhu 18-21, 21-18, 21-8 in a Group A fixture.
Since winning the gold medal at World Championships in August, Sindhu has managed to reached the quarterfinals just once.
Sindhu will now face China’s He Bingjiao in the next group A match of the BWF World Tour Finals.
