Copa del Rey final: FC Barcelona vs Valencia CF

Ernesto Valverde’s Barcelona would be going up against Marcelino’s Valencia in the Copa Del Rey final on Saturday at 8:00 pm BST (12:30 am IST on Sunday).

La Liga champions and 30 time Copa del Rey winners FC Barcelona aim to complete the domestic double against Valencia.

Valencia are the underdogs in the big finale match and they would be looking to cause a huge upset against a Barcelona attack which instills fear in oppositions.

INJURIES

The Catalan club is hit with a lot of injuries with multiple players unavailable for the major tie.

Luis Suarez recently underwent a knee surgery and is unavailable for the next two weeks. Back-up striker Kevin Prince Boateng is also out with an injury.

Ousamane Dembele is a major doubt while Philipe Coutinho is not fully fit to be able to play the whole 90 minutes.

Marc Andre Ter Stegen has a knee problem and Arthur might also be unavailable for the Copa del Rey final.

Denis Cheryshev is the only doubt for Valencia as Ezequiel Garay is fit again after a hamstring injury.

FORM

FC Barcelona are going through a patchy period as they have won only of the last four matches. They lost a 3-0 first leg lead at Anfield, suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss to Celta Vigo and finsihed the La Liga season with a 2-2 draw against Eibar.

Valencia have won three of their last four matches, winning their last three matches in La Liga, clinching the last Champions League spot available. But, they emphatically lost to Arsenal getting eliminated from the Europa League.

HEAD TO HEAD

Both the matches between the sides this season have ended in a draw. The first match was a 1-1 draw while the second match was a 2-2 draw.

Tonight’s match can’t end in a draw and one of the sides will emerge victorious with the bragging rights.

FC Barcelona would be looking to bag their fifth consecutive Copa del Rey trophy while Valencia would be looking to win the competition after 11 years.
