Amdist the Coronavirus Outbreak, Former Indian bastman Sachin Tendulkar has stepped up to donate Rs 50 Lakh for the fight against Pandemic virus.

Tendulkar’s is the biggest donation amongst Indian sportspersons, some of which have pledged to donate their salaries while some have donated equipments to curb the spread of virus.

“Sachin Tendulkar decided to contribute Rs 25 lakh each to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in his bid to join the fight against COVID-19. It was his decision that he wanted to contribute to both funds,” an official was quoted as saying.

Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar had urged Indian citizens to stay at home after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a 21-day lockdown to limit the spread of Coronavirus.

Among other Indian cricketers, Sourav Ganguly has donated Rice worth Rs 50 Lakh for the underprivleged.

Pathan brothers — Yusuf and Irfan — donated 4000 face masks to Baroda police and health department while Mahendra Singh Dhoni, through a Pune based NGO, made a donation of Rs 1 lakh.

In India, more than 700 people have been affected by the virus, which has already claimed nearly 25,000 lives all over the world.
