Former Indian Batsmen Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar has urged Indian citizens to stay indoors in the wake of a countrywide lockdown that was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ganguly shared an important message on social media and listed few do’s and don’ts for people amid the Covid-19 threat.

The BCCI President urged everyone to follow directives of the Health Ministry and also asked them to be sensible and stay at home as it is the only option to keep them safe.

“let’s fight this together…. we will get over #corona,” Ganguly’s post read.

Meanwhile, Tendulkar shared a cryptic message and urged people to stay at home and follow all the guidelines issued by the World Health Organization and the government officials.

“Simple things are often the hardest to do, because they require consistent discipline & determination. Hon‘ble PM @narendramodi ji has asked us to #StayHomeStaySafe for 21 days. This simple task can save millions of lives. Let’s all unite in this war against #COVID19,” Tendulkar wrote on Twitter.

The entire global sporting calender has been ruined amid the coronavirus pandemic, in a year when several quadrennial events were slated to take place.

9 people have lost their lives in India due to the outbreak while more than 510 cases have been confirmed in the country.

More than 4,34,000 people have been tested postive for Coronavirus, who has also claimed more than 16,000 globally.
