Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo ended the year by winning the best men’s player at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards here on Monday.

Ronaldo finished third in the Ballon d’Or this year, finishing behind Lionel Messi, who won for it for the record sixth time and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.

The 34-year-old has now won each of the last four Globe Soccer Awards, having also won in 2016, 2017, 2018. He was adjudged winner after helping Portugal claim the UEFA Nations League title and also playing a key role in Juventus’ 2018-19 Serie A title triumph.

“Honoured to receive one more time Globe Soccer Award! A very emotional moment for me to share this award with my family. Grateful for all the hospitality, see you soon Dubai!” he tweeted.

England and Olympique Lyonnais full-back Lucy Bronze was awarded the best women’s player of the year, while Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was named the best manager.

Also, Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, Ronaldo’s Portugal teammate, was awarded best revelation player, while Borussia Dortmund and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi was named the best young Arab player.

Earlier, Ronaldo was seen training alongside Serbia’s star Tennis player Novak Djokovic in Dubai.

Juventus are currently second in the Serie A tables, behind Inter Milan.

After the international break, Juventus will take on sixth-placed Cagliari on January 6.
