Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has termed Liverpool’s win over Tottenham in the Premier League as a ‘massive, massive result’.
“We knew it would be a tough game, even though they didn’t have brilliant results in the last couple of games,” Liverpool’s official website quoted Dejan Lovren as saying.
Lovren added that despite conceding early the team was confident enough to get the job done in the end.
“We knew it would be tough and unfortunately they scored in the first minute, but we kept our nerve, played our game and we had many chances,” he added.
Liverpool won the game 2-1 to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
Tottenham took an early lead as Harry Kane headed home from close range.
However, Liverpool equalised, seven minutes after the restart, through Jordan Henderson. The Reds skipper started and finished the move to draw Liverpool level.
With almost a quarter left on the clock, Liverpool were awarded a spot-kick after Serge Aurier clattered Sadio Mane inside the box.
Mohammed Salah then scored from the spot to hand Liverpool a massive, massive win.
