After bundling out New Zealand XI for 87 runs, India have taken an 87 run lead on day two of the ongoing three-day practice match here at the Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Henry Cooper (42), Rachel Ravindra (34) and skipper Daryl Mitchell (32) chipped in with handy knocks to help New Zealand XI cross the 200-run mark.

For the visitors, Mohammed Shami bagged three wickets while Bumrah, Umesha and Saini scalped a couple each.

At Stump’s, India were 59 without any loss with Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw batting on 23 and 35, respectively.

After mutual agreement, India came out to bat first on day one.

But, the visitors were bowled out for 263 as Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal and Shubhman Gill failed to impress with the bat. Gill and Agarwal were reduced for a duck.

For the Kiwi XI, Jimmy Kuggeleijn and Ish Sodhi bagged three wickets each.

Hanuma Vihari slammed a ton (retd. hurt) and Cheteshwar Pujara chipped in with 93 as the visitors managed to cross the 250 runs mark.

Ajinkya Rahane was the only other player to reach double figures, apart from Vihari and Pujara.

India will resume play on the third and final day at 59/0.
