The Indian cricket team would face the visiting Australian team in the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Wednesday to decide the 5-match series currently tied at 2-2. Virat Kohli would be hoping to lead by example in his hometown alongside Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma as the trio looks to continue their good form in the series.
The Indian side would be missing MS Dhoni and Md Shami as both of them have been given rest in view of the upcoming Indian Premier League. Rishabh Pant and Bhuvneshwar Kumar would be hoping to step up to the occasion and stake a claim in the side for the World Cup.
Australian skipper Aaron Finch would be unable to call upon the services of Marcus Stoinis as he is still nursing a broken thumb. His replacement, Ashton Turner painted himself in glory in Mohali with an unbeaten innings of 84 runs from 43 balls and would be looking for more of the same in Delhi.
Nathan Lyon is expected to make a return to the starting XI in place of Jason Behrendorff with the slow Kotla pitch expected to assist the spinners.
The visitors have the chance of winning their first ODI series in the last 15 months.
Virat Kohli and co. have their task cut out as they play their last ODI match before the World Cup and everyone would be looking to impress the selectors for a slot in the starting XI.
The Indians also have a problem at hand with the spinners going for a lot of runs in the past few matches. Yuzvendra Chahal might be given another chance to impress but nothing is assured with Ravindra Jadeja waiting in the wings.
The series decider will begin in the capital city at 1:30 pm on Wednesday.
