Indian women cricket team is touring West Indies for a 5 match T20 ODI series. In the third T20 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, Indian women beat West Indies women by seven wickets to seal the 5-match series with a 3-0 lead.

In the first two games, West Indies barely managed to get a score past 100, losing by 84 runs and ten wickets respectively.

In the third match, West Indies opted to bat first and managed 59 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Jemimah Rodriques was unbeaten on 40 as India chased down the total in 16.4 overs for the loss of three wickets. The 19-year-old also became the Player of the Match.

For India, it wasn’t an easy chase. Hayley Mathews stunned them at the start, getting Shafali Verma stumped by Shemaine Campbelle in the first over for naught and then having Smriti Mandhana caught by Shakera Salman in the fifth over for 3.

The match was paused momentarily as three sets of stadium lights shut off. No overs were lost and it was more of the same on the restart with the West Indies struggling to score against the Indian bowlers. Harmanpreet Kaur fell at an early stage too, for 7 to Afy Fletcher.

Jemimah Rodrigues saved the hour by knocking the ball around without taking any unnecessary risks and give a smooth victory to the Indian team.

Momentarily the match was paused as the three sets of stadium lights were turned off. No overs were lost because of the slight disturbance in the stadium.
