Arsenal edged Bayern Munich 2-1 to start the International Champions Cup pre-season tournament with a win. The Gunners defeated Colorado Rapids in a frienldly a couple of days ealier.
Eddie Nketiah scored a late winner after Louis Poznanski own goal was cancelled out by Robert Lewandowski.
Bith teams had several chances to take the lead in the first half but both the goalkeepers stood tall.
Arsenal broke he deadlock four minutes after the restart, as Louis Poznanski turned the ball into his own after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s cut back.
german Champions Bayern equalised 18 minutes from time after Serge Gnabry’s cross was headed home by Robert Lewandowski. Shkodran Mustafi was once again the culprit as he has been for the entire 2018/19 season.
Arsenal’s big guns Lacazette, Aubameyand, Ozil and Mkhitaryan all started the game but were substituted later on.
However, it was 20-year-old Arsenal’s academy graduate Eddie Nketiah, who scored minutes before regulation time to win the game.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery assesed the game and spoke about the youngsters impressive display in the first two games of the pre-season.
“We are in the pre-season. Our objective was to take rhythm, take minutes and have confidence playing and also use different players mixed with the experienced players and we want to win every match, this is not the most important but really we can see important things for us, for our ideas,” Emery Said.
“For them it’s important that each match and each training they give us their performance and energy. We have the responsibility with the young players to give them chances,” he added.
Arsenal will now face Fiorentina on Sunday before finally finishing the pre-season against Real Madrid.
“We are going to play against Fiorentina on Saturday and will use young players. It’s another chance for them to show us how they can respond,” the spaniard said.
