IPL 2019 has reached its halfway stage and defending champions Chennai Super Kings have lost only one match, with the rest of the teams fighting it out for the remaining spots in the top four.

Chennai Super Kings have lost only one match, to the Mumbai Indians as they beat every other side in this season of the Indian Premier League.

Kolkata Knight Riders started the season with two consecutive wins before losing to Delhi Capitals in a super over. KKR further lost to Chennai Super Kings and then lost another match to the Delhi side.

Mumbai Indians again started the IPL season on a bad note but they have bounced back beating Chennai Super Kings, SunRisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab.

Delhi Capitals have not been consistent but have done enough to remain in the top four at the halfway stage. Ricky Ponting would be looking towards the top three of Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer to contribute more runs.

Kings XI Punjab have been relying on Chris Gayle and KL Rahul too much with their middle order misfiring. Punjab have to turn in better performances if they don’t want to miss out on the playoffs for a second consecutive season.

SunRisers Hyderabad have failed to make their good start to IPL 2019 count as they float towards the wrong end of the points table. Though, Hyderabad have one match in hand on every team above them and two on Kings XI Punjab.

Rajasthan Royals have failed to finish off games from good positions leading them to the seventh position in IPL 2019 points table.

Royal Challengers Bangalore finally won a match in IPL 2019 as they beat Kings XI Punjab towards the end of the first half of this season. They would need to win six out of the seven remaining matches to stand a chance of qualifying for the playoffs.
