Real Madrid survived a scare in La Liga on Saturday as they edged Granda 4-2 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Eden Hazard scored his first as Los Blancos continued their unbeaten start to the league season.
The 33-time champions led 3-0 before Granada scored twice in quick successions to give the game a nervy ending.
However, James Rodriguez scored his first goal since returning from a two-year loan at Bayern Munich.
Earlier in the match, Karim Benzema had broken the deadlock in the second minute of the game. The Frenchmen nodded home from close range to beat Rui Silva in goal.
In first-half stoppage-time, Eden Hazard then grabbed his first in Real Madrid colours to make it 2-0.
Hazard then turned provider as Modric made it 3-0, just after the hour mark, hammering one into the top left corner.
However, a mistake from goalkeeper Alphonse Areola gave the visitors a way back into the game. Granada were awarded a penalty as Areola cached Machis on his heels and the Venezuelan went clattering down.
Machis, 26, stepped up and beat Areola to pull one back for the Andalusians.
Domingos Duarte made it 2-3 as he headed home from a flick to beat Areola.
James Rodriguez came on in the dying minutes and scored his first since netting a brace against the same opponent back in May 2017.
With this win, Zinedine Zidane’s men are yet to lose a game in the league this season.
Real Madrid will now travel to face Mallorca in La Liga after the International break.
Earlier in the day, Levante defeated Leganes 2-1. The home team were down 0-2 but almost snatched a point as Martin Brathwaite failed to convert his second, missing from the 12-yard spot.
