Ahead of the Clasico next weekend, Real Madrid faltered under pressure to hand Barcelona a two-point lead at the top of LaLiga tables after losing 0-1 at Levante here on Saturday.
Levante skipper Jose Luis Morales scored the only goal of the game here at the Ciutat de Valencia to end a 24-game goal drought.
Barcelona, meanwhile, had earlier thrashed Eibar 5-0 at the Camp Nou, thanks to a Lionel Messi poker here at the Camp Nou.
Real Madrid misfired in the first-half as Los Granotas capitalized completely changed the dynamic in the second half to earn what was just their second victory over Real Madrid at home (a 2-1 win in the 2011/12 campaign).

Levante shot-stopper Aitor Fernandez once again took the centre stage as he pulled off a series of fine saves to deny Benzema, Modric and Hazard.
With just 10 minutes of normal time left, Real Madrid’s backline switched off, allowing Nikola Vukcevic to set up Morales, who volleyed his effort from a tight angle to fire Levante into the lead.
Real Madrid pushed for an equaliser and almost got one but Sergio Postigo’s last ditched challenge to help Levante move up to 10th in the table, temporarily.
Los Granotas have now defeated both Real Madrid and Barcelona this season.
Real Madrid will now take on Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.
