Mohammed Shami has attained his career-best ranking in the latest ICC Test bowler rankings, released on Sunday.
Shami has moved inside the top 10 for the first time, following his match winning spell against Bangladesh in the first Test in Indore.
He scalped seven wickets, three wickets in the first innings, followed by a poker in the second innings, as India won the match by an inning and 130 runs.
Australia pacer Pat Cummins, however, has retained his top spot while Jasprit Bumrah too firmly sits on the fourth spot.
Mayank Agarwal, who scored 243 in the first Test, has also attained his career-best ranking, moving seven spots to 11th in the latest ICC Test batsmen rankings released on Sunday.
Australia’s Steve Smith holds the top spot in the batsment rankings, followed by India skipper Virat Kohli.

Ravichandran Ashwin, on the other hand, swapped placed with Vernon Philander, to move inside the top 4 in the latest ICC Test all-rounder rankings.
Windies skipper Jason Holder, Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes retain the top three spots, respectively.
Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das and Abu Jayed have also improved their ranking.
Mushfiqur and Das have claime the 30th and 86th spot in the batsmen rankings while Abu Jayed, who scalped four wickets against India, has jumped 18 places to claim the 62nd position.
