Late goals from Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling saw Manchester City edge Everton 3-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.

David Silva became the fastest player to reach 200 Premier League wins as City continue their march.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header from the line meant both teams head into the break level at 1-1 after Gabriel Jesus’ header gave the visitors a 24th-minute lead.

Kevin De Bruyne’s cross at the far post was met by Jesus, who made no mistake to head it past Jordan Pickford.

The Evertonians were quick to respond as Dominic Calvert-Lewin made it 1-1, 9 minutes later. The England international headed home from the line following a Seamus Coleman cross.

Mahrez scored from a freekick, 20 minutes from time to give City a 2-1 lead.

Yerry Mina towering header was parried away by Ederson before Calvert-Lewin missed from the follow-up.

Raheem Sterling added another one, six minutes before regulation time, to put the game in bed.

Man City is currently second in the table, 5 points behinds Liverpool, who defeated Sheffield United by 1-0 earlier in the day.

Also, on Saturday, Chelsea defeated Brighton 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to move inside the top 6 in the table.

Jorginho scored from the spot after Mason Mount was tripped inside the box.

Late in the second half, Chelsea’s lead was doubled as Willian deflected shot went past Matt Ryan.

A 10-man Tottenham Hotspur also survived a scare against Southampton with 2-1 win at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Tanguy Ndombele broke the deadlock before Serge Aurier was shown a straight red.

Hugo Lloris’ blunder saw the Saint’s equalise but Harry Kane scored minutes before the break to give Spurs a 2-1 lead.
