Manchester United signed off for the international break with a win over Brighton & Hove Albion while Wolves also won against Aston Villa in the Premier League here on Sunday.
Andreas Pereira and Marcus Rashford scored on either side of a Davy Propper own goal as United won 3-1 at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils looked fairly comfortable on the night but Brighton had their moments.
The Seagulls, however, did manage to find the net, with Lewis Dunk netting in the 64th minute, before Marcus Rashford made it 3-1.
With this win, United are seven games unbeaten at home in all competitions (W4, D3, L0).
Brighton, on the other hand, were on a two-game winning run in the Premier League before today’s defeat.
After the international break, Manchester United will face Sheffield United at the Bramall Lane.
Wolverhampton Wanderers also won in the Premier League on Sunday as they overcame a struggling Aston Villa side.
Ruben Neves broke the deadlock in the 41st minute, finishing off with a trademark first-time finish, following an indirect free-kick.
Adama Traore, who was called up by Spain for the Euro 2020 qualifiers, almost doubled Wolves lead, only for the woodwork to intervene.
But with six minutes left on the clock, Jimenez finally made it 2-0 on the break.
Neves released Traore, who then slid the ball for Mexican, who calmly swept the ball home.
Aston Villa, however, did manage to pull one back through Trezeguet.
Wolves will now travel to face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, after the international break.
