Patna Pirates on Thursday pipped Jaipur Pink Panthers in a thrilling Pro Kabaddi League fixture, as Pradeep Narwal starred once again.
Pirates are in ninth place in the 12-team table and kept their playoff hopes alive with their second win on the bounce. The three-time champions had defeated Tamil Thalaivas in their last game.
Having played 15 games each, Patna Pirates has 30 points in the bag, while Panthers are still inside the top 6, with 42 points.
Pradeep Narwal, the Talismanic skipper of Patna, led by example, bagging 15 raid points.
Narwal was equally complimented by Korean Jang Kun Lee as Patna turn the table around, after trailing 14-15 at half-time.
Although, Patna’s fragile defence was a concern as they squandered an opportunity to inflict an all-out on Pink Panthers.
Jaipur started the second half positively but Lee won crucial points for Patna, clinching all-out in the eighth minute of the second period.
Pink Panthers despite the all-out still had a one-point lead, thanks largely to their raiders, who bagged bonus points regularly.
In the last minute, Jaipur defenders pushed Lee towards the backline in order to get an extra raid. However, he got a clever touch of Amit Hooda to keep Patna’s play-off hopes alive.
