Ace shuttler PV Sindhu is all set to break her jinx and participate in the Japan Open that will commence from Tuesday in Tokyo.
Sindhu will be leading India in the Japan Open after Asian games bronze medallist Saina Nehwal pulled out from the tournament.
After her consecutive silver medal wins in the Commonwealth Games, the World Championships and Asiad, Sindhu is expecting aims for a gold this tournament.
The third-seeded 23-year-old begins her campaign against Japan’s Sayaka Takahashi.
Among the men, Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy will look to go deep into the draw. B Sai Praneeth has also withdrawn from the tournament. In the men’s doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will square off against the Japanese pair of Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda.
