Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in the first semi-final of Rolland Garros French Open.
In the first hand, Nadal took an early 3-0 lead against Federer courtesy of his brilliant forehand shots.
The lead was reduced to 3-2 but Nadal didn’t back down and closed the set at 6-3.
The Swiss ace took a 2-0 lead against the second seed Nadal but the Spanish player pegged Federer back to 2-2.
The match progressed head to head as it went to 3-3 and then 4-4. Nadal used Federer’s tiredness to his advantage as he wrapped up the second set by taking a 6-4 lead.
After completely dominating the first two sets, the Spanish ace raced to a 4-1 lead and wrapped the third set 6-2 winning the match 6-3, 6-4, and 6-2.
Nadal will now face the winner of Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem in the final of the 2019 Rolland Garros French Open.
