In the 2019 Singapore Open, B Sai Praneeth has crashed out in the first round whille PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Srikanth Kidambi, Sourabh Verma, Parupalli Kashyap and HS Prannoy qualified for the second round of the tournament.
B Sai Praneeth has been eliminated from the ongoing Singapore Open as he lost to World No.1 Kento Momota in a tightly contested match.
Praneeth won the first game 21-19 and the World No.1 duly bounced back as he won the second game 21-14. The Japanese ace eliminated B Sai Praneeth by defeating him 22-20 in the third game of the match.
Elsewhere, in women’s singles, PV Sindhu cruised to the second round with a win over Lyanny Alessandra Mainaky. Sindhu won the first game 21-9 and followed it with a brilliant 21-7 win sealing her spot in the next round.
Saina Nehwal also won her match in two straight games as she defeated Yulia Yosephin Susanto. Nehwal won the first game 21-16 and dominated even more in the second game winning it 21-11.
Other Indian men’s singles players did not fault as they made it to the second round quite easily. Parupalli Kashyap got one over Rasmus Gemke as the 32-year old won 21-19, 21-14.
Former World No.1 Kidambi Srikanth defeated Sitthikom Thammasin 21-17, 21-18 to book his place in the second round of 2019 Singapore Open.
HS Prannoy lost the first game 11-21 to Brice Leverdez but made an inspiring comeback as he won 21-16, 21-18 in the following games to win the tie.
Amongst all the Indians participating in the coveted tournament, Sameer Verma had the most dominating match as he defeated Suppanyu Avihingsanon in two games. He won the first game 21-14 and followed it with a 21-6 win burying the hopes of his opponent.
In the all-Indian mixed doubles match, the pair of Pranav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy got one over K Maneesha and M R Arjun.
The Chopra-Reddy pair won the match 21-18, 21-7 asserting their dominance over the pair of K Maneesha and M R Arjun.
