An excellent innings of 81 runs off 56 balls from David Warner powered the SunRisers Hyderabad to a 45-run victory over the Kings XI Punjab.

Winning the toss, the visiting skipper Ravichandran Ashwin opted to field first.

The new opening partnership of David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha started the Hyderabad innings with a flash. The duo teamed up and scored 77 runs in the first six overs giving the best possible start to the SunRisers.

Saha was dismissed by Murugan Ashwin after scoring 28 runs off 13 balls. The Bengal-born wicket-keeper smashed three boundaries and a solitary maximum in his innings.

Manish Pandey continued his good form at No.3 as he contributed 36 runs off 25 balls.

Mohammed Nabi scored 20 runs off 10 balls while SunRisers skipper Kane Williamson scored 14 runs off 7 balls smashing three sixes and a four between them.

Star player David Warner scored 81 runs off 56 balls smashing seven boundaries and a couple of maximums in his entertaining innings.

Chasing 213, Chris Gayle perished early to Khaleel Ahmed as Manish Pandey stuttered while taking the catch but finished the job safely.

Mayank Agarwal once again, got a good start, scoring 27 runs off 18 balls smashing a couple of boundaries and a solitary maximum before giving away his wicket to Rashid Khan.

Nicholas Pooran impressed with a short innings of 21 runs off 10 balls. The Caribbean wicket-keeper put away two boundaries and as many maximums in his short stay at the crease.

None of the Punjab batsmen shone throughout the innings except Lokesh Rahul who scored 79 runs off 56 balls scoring four fours and five maximums.

Debutant Prabhsimran Singh was bought for a massive 4.8 crore rupees in the auction but he failed to impress with a faltering innings of 16 runs off 17 balls.

Khaleel Ahmed continued his good vein of form with three wickets as Sunrisers Hyderabad strengthened their hold on the fourth position.
