Virat Kohli fined by Gurgaon Municipality for wasting water

Indian National Cricket Team led by skipper Virat Kohli is currently in England for ICC World Cup 2019. The Men in Blues have started their campaign with a win over South Africa by six wickets at the Rose Bowl.
However, Indian Cricket team players are in the news for some other reasons.
Gurgaon Municipality has fined Virat Kohli with Rs 500 for using and wasting drinking water to wash cars.

Virat Kohli fined for wasting water

One of Virat’s Neighbour compalined MCG regarding the wastage of water by Virat’s servent at his residence in DLF Phase 1, Gurgaon.

According to reports, water is being waster to wash dozens of cars including a couple of SUVs parked inside the residence of Kohli.

Reports suggests, the authorities arrived at his residence when Kohli’s domestic help was washing the car with drinking water.

Furthermore, Gurugram municipal corporation have sanctioned ten other residences.

Earlier, Virat Kohli became the third fastest cricketer to win 50 ODI matches as captain after the victory over South Africa in Southampton.

Virat Kohli, who took over from MS Dhoni as India’s limited-overs skipper in 2017, needed just 69 matches for 50 wins as captain. Kohli went past West Indies legend Vivian Richards who had got to the 50-win mark in 70 matches.

India restricted South Africa for just 227, before, Kohli-led Indian team chased the target with 6-wickets to spare.

Speaking after the win, Virat Kohli said India had come up with a professional performance and that he is happy to begin the World Cup campaign with a win.

Having begun his maiden World Cup campaign as captain with a win, Kohli would want to lay down an early marker with a good show against Australia when they take face defending champions at The Oval in London on Sunday.
