Virat Kohli is happy with Rishabh Pant’s performance, who made a fantastic fifty in the third T20 match against West Indies. Virat said that we are looking at Pant as the future.
Rishabh Pant played a match winnings knock of 65 from just 42 balls as Team India cruised to a 7-wicket win over West Indies in Guyana.
After losing Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul with just 27 runs on the board, Pant alongside skipper Virat Kohli added 106 for the third wicket to put India in a comfortable position.
However, skipper Virat couldn’t finish off in style and departed after completing his fifty. However, Pant took responsibility and took the team beyond the finishing line.
Earlier, Pant said that he easily gets frustrated when he doesn’t score runs. The youngster had a horrible start to the tour with two low score innings. However, his knock in the final T20 has definitely silenced his critiques.

“We are looking at Rishabh as the future, definitely. He has got a lot of skill and talent. It’s about winning and finishing games like these and gaining confidence which he wants to do as well,” Virat Kohli said after India’s win in Guyana.
Captain Virat Kohli says the team is keen on giving the youngster enough space to settle into the team.
“It is about giving him a bit more space and ease himself into international cricket and not put too much pressure. International cricket you need to tackle pressure differently. He has come a long way since he’s started. If he plays like this regularly, we will see his potential shine for India,” the India captain added.
India will begin their 3-match ODI series against the West Indies from August 8 in Guyana before ending the tour with a couple of Tests.
