Indian Cricket Team battled against all odds to win the 1983 Cricket World Cup (Prudential Cup) beating West Indies in the final at Lord’s.

On 25th June 1983, Kapil Dev-led side defeated West Indies by 43 runs, as the Windies were restricted to just 140.

Exactly 36 years after the triumph at the ‘Home of Cricket’, Indian Legends like Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Mohammad Kaif and the BCCI paid tributes to India’s World Cup triumph.

Mohammad Kaif, who made his name at the very same venue in the Natwest series 2003, also paid tribute to India’s historic achievement.

Indian Team is currently in England for the World Cup and are unbeaten so far. India will be in action on Thursday with a game against West Indies at Old Trafford. Interestingly, In 1983, Indian started their World Cup with a game against West Indies at the Old Trafford. India won by 36 runs on that day.
