In the ongoing fourth T20I, the fans did not turn up in huge numbers and the seats were largely empty. Majority of the spectators inside the Westpac Stadium is dominated by the Indian fans.
Dhoni was left out by BCCI from their central contract list. The list was released the central contract list of players for the period from October 2019 to September 2020.
The 38-year-old is currently enjoying some time away from the game and last played during the ICC 50-over World Cup, last year.
During the tournament, Dhoni had to face the wrath of fans and pundits for his slow batting, especially in the games against England and New Zealand. Netizens criticised Dhoni and deemed him the reason for India’s exit in the semi-final stage.
However, ever since his sabbatical, Indian fans have started to miss MSD, especially due to the inconsistency in the wicket-keeping department.
