After defeating Brazilian side Flamengo in the FIFA Club World Cup final, Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson said that the team showed great mentality.
“I’m delighted that we’ve come here and done what we wanted to do and that’s win. We’ve had two tough games with extra-time but I thought the lads kept going and showed a great mentality again to find the winner,” LFC TV quoted Jordan Henderson as saying.
Henderson added that he delighted with the way the team dug in and got the clean sheet.
“We had some great chances in the game but always kept going and always kept fighting and tried to find the breakthrough, so I’m delighted that we’ve managed to do that and keep the clean sheet,” he added.
Just like the semi-finals against Mexican side Monterrey, Roberto Firmino scored the decisive goal. The match went to extra-time before Firmino scored in the 99th minute as the Reds lifted the FIFA World Cup title.

This is the first time when Liverpool has won the CWC title, having lost 1-0 in the 2005 final against another Brazilian side, Sao Paulo.
Premier League table-toppers Liverpool will now face second-placed Leicester City on Friday.
