Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made it clear that he wants Leroy Sane to stay despite the German being linked with a move away to Bayern Munich this summer.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Leroy Sane is close to joining Bayern Munich for a rumored fee of around €90m.

“We want him to stay. Hopefully he can stay this season and another one and another one, that’s why we offered him a new contract,” Guardiola said.

However, Guardiola addded that the final decision will be made by the 23-year-old [Leroy Sane], regarding his future.

“I want him. He has special qualities, we play wingers and we need specific wingers. But it is his decision, it’s the same as what happened with [Jadon] Sancho. We want him, we are giving everything, but in the end, if he doesn’t want, what can you do? Nothing.”

Although, they still have a decent attacking lineup with the likes of Sterling, Berardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez at wings, and Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus up top.

Sane is currently with City in China, and he’ll be in action later today when City face Wolves in the final of Premier League Asia trophy.

City came from a goal down to beat West Ham 4-1 in the semi-finals with Raheem Sterling netting a brace.

Manchster City’s Transfer Window

City haven’t done much in the transfer window and have signed only two players, Rodri from Atletico Madrid for €63m and left-back Angelina who resigned from PSV Eindhoven.

City are looking for some defensive re-inforcement as Club captain Vincent Kompany has left the club for a plaer manager role in Anderlecht.

“We will see,” Guardiola said when asked if City needed to replace Kompany. “But yeah, we are looking for some names.

“At the same time, we have three centre-backs who can play there and we have two young players in the second team who can help us.

“We shall see if the market is possible and if the club believes we can spend that money. But if they don’t, we shan’t spend it.”
