Ex-Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar criticised New Zealand after the Kiwis faced humiliation at the expense of England. Akhtar was disappointed with the way the Black Caps played against England.

Nonetheless, Akhtar said that Pakistan has only themselves to blame for their World Cup disappointment.

“I was disappointed with the way New Zealand played against England. They didn’t give any fight and meekly surrendered before England and played like amateurs. They didn’t play quality cricket,” Shoaib Akhtar said in his YouTube channel.

Akhtar pointed out that Pakistan’s defeat to West Indies in their first match and their 46-run loss to Australia were 2 matches that influenced Pakistan’s current situation.

“The match against the West Indies cost us badly. Then their match against Sri Lanka got abandoned. After that, they lost the game to Australia which they should have won. These three matches made it very difficult for Pakistan. They themselves have got out of the tournament. Nobody else is responsible for their loss,” Akhtar said.

Pakistan started the World Cup in a miserable way but are now on a 3-match unbeaten run after beating South Africa, New Zealand and Afghanistan, respectively.

Pakistan’s last defeat in World Cup came against arch-rivals India at Old Trafford on June 16.

However, he has requested the Team to give their best against Bangladesh in their last game on Friday.

“All is not lost still. We have to play for our pride against Bangladesh. Pakistan has to make sure they don’t get humiliated and therefore they should play good cricket against Bangladesh,” Akhtar added.

Akhtar has been making World Cup predictions through his Youtube channel and actually, he has done quite well.
