Motorola the Lenovo-owned smartphone brand on Wednesday launched a new handset called the Moto One Hyper that is the first handset from the company to sport a pop-up selfie camera.

The Motorola One Hyper has been announced for $400 in the US. This roughly converts to Rs 29,000.

The 32-megapixel sensor (0.8µm pixels, 1.6µm with pixel binning) also makes this the highest resolution selfie camera on a Moto phone. Similarly, the 64-megapixel primary camera tops any that came before for Motorola. It’s a large 1/1.7” sensor with 0.8µm pixels and an f/1.9 aperture. It’s backed by a Laser autofocus system.

Both front and primary camera of Moto One hyper come with night vision and low-light feature.

The Motorola One Hyper features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) it’s an IPS LCD, which pushes the fingerprint reader on the back (which doubles as a notification light).

Moto One Hyper runs Android 10 right out of the box and sports the well-liked Moto Actions.

It has both a headphone jack and microSD card slot and is powered by a Snapdragon 675 processor paired with 4GB of RAM.

This is the first device with “Hyper Charging” – Motorola’s take on 45W wired charging (the fastest by the company yet by a large margin). In 10 minutes it can load in 12 hours worth of battery life. Unfortunately, the charger is sold separately – you get a standard 15W charger in the box. Anyway, the battery has a 4,000mAh capacity.

There is 128GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 1TB with the help of microSD card.

Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Dolby Audio as well as some level of water-resistance.

The smartphone is available in three colour options — Deep sea blue, dark amber, and fresh orchid hues.
