Facebook Messenger crashed unexpectedly on Thursday and as a result, users were unable to send or receive messages for several hoursafter the chat app crashed unexpectedly on Thursday.

The glitch was discovered around 6am (ET) this morning, but they were later resolved around 3pm (ET).

This happens one week after Facebook Messenger was hit by a similar glitch that lasted for almost an entire day.

As per the media reports, Facebook spokesperson, Dalya Browne said, “‘The issue was due to an error in code and has since been resolved; we’re sorry for any inconvenience.’

Users around the globe experienced a glitch, since the website was also impacted but mainly users around U.K., Europe and South America faced a major issue in sending and receiving messages through the messenger app.

The users reported that they were getting a message “an error occurred and the connection was unsuccessful,” while some were unable to load it all. The service was shut down resulting in frustration and confusion among them.
