Coronavirus in India noida

As India reports news cases of coronavirus infection, two schools in Noida have been closed after the fumigation process was conducted. Noida schools have issued statements according to which the schools will be shut from March 4 to 6.

A day after a man was detected with coronavirus in Delhi, six other suspected cases of people who came in contact with the Delhi patient have been quarantined in Agra.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on his official twitter page saying that he has had an “extensive review regarding preparedness on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus.”

The whole tweet read, “Had an extensive review regarding preparedness on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Different ministries & states are working together, from screening people arriving in India to providing prompt medical attention.”

In yet another tweet by the Prime Minister, he urged the citizens to not panic. “There is no need to panic. We need to work together, take small yet important measures to ensure self-protection,” he said.

The tweet also had an image attached which had steps towards basic prevention measures that need to be taken, like washing hands, maintaining social distance, avoiding touching of eyes, nose, and mouth.

There are two labs designated for the screening of the coronavirus­­—RGICS and Bangalore Medical College.

A 24-hour helpline 104 has also been started by the government. Also, India has suspended all regular, e-visas issued to nationals of Italy, Iran, South Korea, and Japan issued on or before 3 March 2020, and who have not yet entered India, with immediate effect.
