A fateful accident near Madinah in the west of Saudi Arabia has reportedly left at least thirty-five dead and as many as four others injured on Wednesday.
According to a local news agency which quoted the province’s police spokesman, a traffic accident between carrying a bus full of expat pilgrims and another heavy vehicle in the settlement of Al Akhal region led to the fatal incident.
Reports suggest that the injured were taken to the nearby Al Hamna Hospital.
The passengers on board included citizens of several Arab and Asian countries, the local police added.
Taking note of the incident, Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah, expressed his condolences to the kin of the pilgrims who lost their lives in the accident.
Prince Faisal also ordered adequate medical care to be provided for the passengers who sustained injuries.
A probe into the accident is currently underway, international media reported.
