Jeff Bezos and his wife ending the twenty-five-year-old relation tweeted positive comments. The decision leaves Ms Bezos to turn into the world’s third richest woman.
On Twitter, Ms Bezos, 48, said she was giving her husband all of her interest in The Washington Post, which he bought in 2013, and Blue Origin, the space exploration company he launched, the Sky news reported.
She will have a 4% stake in Amazon and he will have 12%, meaning he remains the largest shareholder as well as gaining voting control of his former wife’s shares.
Prior to the settlement, Jeff Bezos held a 16.3% stake in Amazon. He will retain 75% of that holding but Ms Bezos has transferred all of her voting rights to her former husband.
Ms. Bezos was one of the first employees to be hired for the company which was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994.
She bid adieu to her relation write a heartfelt note and saying: Grateful for the paste as I look forward to what comes next.”
