On Wednesday, a mass shooting in the German city killed at least 8 people and injured five more.
The Shisha bars in Hanau, 20 kilometers from Frankfurt, were targetted by the two suspected gunmen. The prisoners are reportedly on the run.
According to the local media, the police had begun a hunt for the criminals immediately.
The police reports said the first attack took place at the “Midnight” bar at 10 pm at the center of the city. The locals heard a dozen shots being fired.
The second attack took place near the Arena Bar, and the attackers had fled the scene by car, according to the police.
The local media reports said, three people died in front of the first bar and five in front of the second. Soon enough, thirty police cars and police officers with machine guns deployed in the city were searching for the attackers.
One of the suspected perpetrators of the shooting attack was found dead in his home on Thursday.
“The suspected attacker was found dead at his home in Hanau. Moreover, police special forces have also found one more body there. The investigation is underway. At the moment, there are no signs that there could be more attackers,” police wrote on their Twitter page.
Recently, Germany has been in the center of several extremist attacks, one of which killed 12 people in Berlin in 2016.
